Countertop Eftpos solutions come in several formats – One Piece, Pass Over and Two Piece.
Each of the Brands – Verifone, Ingenico and Hypercom have different models and configurations that may suit a site more so than the other.
These differences can include…
- Suitablity to sharing a phone line with other devices,
- Phone Top Up software (such as Ezipay or EPay).
- Connectivity to Point Of Sale,
- High Volume vs Low Volume sites,
- Raised or Wide Counter sites,
- Drive Thru sites,
- Also other considerations are speed, reliability, IP vs dial and dial back up options, the ability to Re-Load software remotely, the ability to fall back to a one piece terminal in event of Pin Pad failure plus many more differences OR a combination of the above.
We have a document we can share with you on choosing the best terminal to suit your needs.
If you wish to have a copy – Please Phone 0800 5494 767 and ask for it to be sent to you.
We can then also help you over the phone to sort through these issues to help you choose what terminal is best for you.
One Piece Terminals are where the Eftpos Terminal, and the Pin Pad for the customer and Printer are an “All in One” piece configuration.
Pass Over Terminals have the Eftpos Terminal and customer Pin Pad combined into one Keypad, But there is a separate Printer/Modem, – This makes the Eftpos Terminal / Pin Pad that is passed from business operator to customer a lot smaller device than the one piece terminal.
Two Piece Terminals are where there are 2 Keypads, – One in the main Eftpos Terminal for the business operator, and one in the Pin Pad facing the Customer. The Main terminal houses the printer. These are better for busier sites and saves staff time passing equipment back and forth. Great for speeding up a queue or when site conditions make this necessary.
Some of these combinations above can with the latest software releases be used to connect as an “Interfaced” or as an “Integrated” solution too some brands of Point of Sale Software or Cash Registers.
The list of Eftpos to POS interfaces is regularly updated as Interfaces are Certified on the Paymark Network,
- So if you would like the latest list sent to you, – Please ask for it by Phoning 0800 5494 767
